Canadas tried to remove assurances that Canada would sup manner its entirelyies in future wars, but failed. In 1921, Canadas population was approximately 9 million citizens from which the majority was English Canadians. Canada was troubled by the lack of whiz with its people. In the general elections held in 1921, the liberal Party held the roughly seats and won the elections. The liberal party was led by Mackenzie big businessman. Mackenzie King served as a prime minister of Canada three times from 1921 to 1926, 1926 to 1930, and 1935 to 1948. He worked to improve Canadian self-government in foreign relations and to tie in English and French Canadians. J.S Woodsworth together with William Irvine won seats in the Canadian Parliament. Together they wanted churches in Canada and that the government to become more spry on such socia l issues as alcohol abuse, the hardship of immigrants, sweat conditions, poverty and prostitution. Canada was asked and other dominions to send troops to supporter participate to help the British to hold a position at the Turkish port in Chanak. Canada disagreed to support Britain in the potential war with Turkey. First time, Canada did not automatically support Britain in war.
